About the Opportunity
Manimama, an international legal and regulatory advisory firm specialising in cryptocurrency, FinTech and digital assets, is supporting an established cryptocurrency business in its expansion into Slovakia.
The company previously operated in the Polish market and is now preparing to establish its presence in Slovakia and apply for authorisation as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), with a focus on crypto-asset exchange services.
We are looking for an experienced, business-oriented professional to join the company's management team and take an active role in the development of the business in Slovakia.
This is an opportunity to combine executive responsibility with direct involvement in establishing a regulated crypto-asset business and developing its operations beyond the authorisation stage.
Your Role
As Managing Director and a member of the company's management body, you will contribute to the company's strategic direction, management and preparation for the MiCA authorisation process.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Management & Strategy: Participate in strategic decision-making, corporate governance and the overall management of the company.
• MiCA Authorisation: Work alongside legal and regulatory advisers to prepare and coordinate the company's MiCA authorisation application.
• Regulatory Interaction: Represent the company, within the scope of your authority, in communications with the National Bank of Slovakia (Národná banka Slovenska – NBS) and other relevant authorities.
• Business Preparation: Coordinate key management and organisational activities required to prepare the business for launch and ongoing operations.
• Governance & Compliance: Contribute to appropriate corporate governance, internal controls, risk management and compliance arrangements.
• Business Development: Support the company's development and expansion in the Slovak and broader European crypto and FinTech markets.
• Ongoing Management: Remain actively involved in managing and developing the business following successful authorisation. Requirements We are looking for a professional who combines management experience with a strong understanding of the cryptocurrency, digital assets or FinTech industry. Required:
• Residency in Slovakia and the ability to fulfil management responsibilities within the country.
• A completed university degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant managerial or executive experience, with demonstrated leadership and decision-making responsibilities.
• Professional experience in cryptocurrency, digital assets or FinTech, with a solid understanding of the industry and its business models.
• A good understanding of financial services regulation, compliance principles and the responsibilities involved in managing a regulated financial business.
• Strong professional reputation, sound judgment and the ability to meet applicable regulatory suitability requirements for a member of the management body.
• Willingness to take an active management role and participate in the company's authorisation process and business development. Would be an advantage:
• Familiarity with MiCA and the Slovak regulatory environment.
• Previous experience with a regulated financial institution, cryptocurrency exchange or digital asset business.
• Experience interacting with financial regulators, particularly the NBS.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT, corporate governance or financial risk management.
• Professional communication skills in Slovak and English.
