About the role

You will be working in a BaU (Business as Usual) team which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing an in-house application for analysis and reserves estimation, which is used by Swiss Re's P&C and CorSo business. Our main customer is the actuarial community within the company.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and curious IT Business Analyst who wants to continuously improve as part of the team of IT Business Analysts within the Risk Management InfoTech unit.

In your role, you will support the quarterly actuarial reserving processes in our newly developed cloud-based platform. The role requires end-to-end understanding of the system. Apart from the BaU work, you will also participate in further improvement of the system in close cooperation with Application/Data Engineers.

Your tasks will include:

  • Supporting quarterly system preparation
  • Performing of the system reconciliations
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and up-to-date documentation
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis
  • Communication with international user community
  • Leading small enhancements – which includes gathering and analysing requirements, writing user stories, cooperating with developers, and testing of newly developed features, including supporting user testing.
About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results driven individual who can bring creative solutions and continuously improve. You'll be a fit if you enjoy interacting with people, analyse problems, and actively listen with the aim of understanding clients' needs.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL is required to be able to work in a cloud-based data platform (Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse)
  • Previous experience in IT project work is required, preferably in an agile setup
  • Previous experience with business analysis and documentation using tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Wiki
  • Strong analytical skills; quick learner and passionate to explore the unknown
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, insurance/reinsurance/actuarial work is a plus
  • Python or R language, and experience with PowerBI is a plus

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2300,- EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
