Geometry Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Geometry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production plant, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in car manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and experience working with geometrical measurement systems. They will also possess excellent analytical skills, able to draw meaningful conclusions from large datasets and establish cause-and-effect relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain geometry assurance systems and processes to support final demand objectives and fulfill specified capability targets for body shop and final assembly.
  • Assure robust final demand measurement outcomes of current/forward models with zero first-time-through influence or production stop time.
  • Owning the perceived quality final demands achievements towards customers over the lifetime of the vehicle.
  • Judging and defining additional measuring requirements for analysis in which equipment or way is best and giving suggestions based on measurements.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of measurement results from factory, evaluation of modifications and adjustments resulting from analysis in the plant.
  • Interfacing at the working level within the Volvo Geometry Network with similar responsible engineers at all related Volvo establishments.
  • Initiating updating of geometric requirements documents and CMM Programme changes where defined as required which included target values, measuring and capability points, etc.
  • Developing, leading, and performing continuous education & training of geometry methods, principles, cross-functional interactions and tools to the plants.
  • Creating weekly geometry indicators management status reports to inform factory management of the geometry output, improvements within their specific areas.
  • Delivering efficient and timely root cause analysis, containment, and permanent fixes of geometrical or quality robustness of geometry systems or deliverables.
  • In programme support design review, geometry verifications activities, problem-solving of Perceived Quality demands (Final Demands) between FDJ to Final Status Report (FSR).
  • Feeding the up-streams lessons learned and continuous improvement work towards geometry methods and system solutions to secure Volvo Cars business objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably with OEM experience within geometry engineering at a car manufacturing plant.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of drawing meaningful conclusions from large datasets and establishing cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Slovak.
  • Skilled in Catia, Teamcenter, CM4D, and Minitab.
  • Certified in Six Sigma at the Yellow, Blue, or Black Belt level.
