About the Team

P&C Operational Excellence is a small global team of transformation experts that use their background, skills, knowledge, connections, and drive to collaborate closely with senior management and business experts.

Based on the specific demand, we deploy concepts, analytics, problem solving, project management, change management, and/or influencing skills. We act as a partner, challenger, facilitator to provide the best possible outcome.

About the role

In this position, you will be accountable for leading groundbreaking projects, which develop, streamline and quantify business processes according to our guidelines and deliverables. You will report directly to the Head of Operational Excellence Property & Casualty (P&C).

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership of medium to large projects to transform the way we work in P&C reinsurance: identify, plan, setup and implement changes which will define SwissRe's target operating model. Bring in solution ideas and use problem solving methodologies (such as DMAIC/Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking). Facilitate meetings and workshops with business experts (SME's) related to assigned projects. Provide insight for the business on topics such as staffing needs, talent & skill development and recommend training areas as the need arises. Develop functional, technical and system workflow solutions for sophisticated business processes in a clear and concise manner. Present convincing proposals by way of high-level solutions to the business community and senior management. Define metrics used to manage process improvements and reports regularly on progress to business leaders and program team. Collaborate on Operational Excellence strategy & implementation plan.

About you

Our new colleague should be a self-motivated, independent working personality with strong analytical, leadership, problem solving presentation skill and ability to empower diverse groups and inspire change.

You should bring knowledge and understanding of (re-)insurance areas/ products and a strong drive for process improvement as well as the desire to deliver on the goals of the organization.

Our new colleague should also be able to travel to global SwissRe locations.

Essentials:

Bachelor's degree specializing in business, related technology, or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience. Strong understanding and usage of Project Management, Lean Six Sigma and Organisational change tools & techniques. Creating concepts for operational excellence topics and present them to senior management. Ability to lead multiple meaningful priorities in a fast paced and multifaceted environment. Strong PC skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio/ARIS, and SharePoint. Good data literacy with usage of data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Stargate, etc. a strong plus.

Nice-to-haves:

Experience in conducting Kaizen/RIE (Rapid Improvement Events): definition, implementation, and execution of collaborative workshops with stakeholders to define a new or improved business process. PROSCI / ADKAR, PMP, Six Sigma certification a plus.
