Credit Account Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough credit investigations, emphasizing financial statement analysis to determine suitable credit lines and payment terms for new and existing accounts.
  • Maintain adequate credit lines on assigned account base by reviewing customer accounts per company policies. Collaborate with sales teams to identify credit line requirements for clients.
  • Analyze customer accounts, monitoring open balances, delayed payments, and other discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute customer account statements and dunning letters in coordination with established account receivable schedules, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely collections and reconciliation of A/R for assigned portfolio. Interface with internal and external customers to resolve deduction-related issues and improve processes to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Notify management, sales, and customers of credit hold status.
  • Communicate with sales, finance, and operations teams to address related business matters and discuss the status of customer accounts, keeping the sales organization and management informed of escalated actions for delinquent, disputed, and over-credit-line accounts.
  • Recommend accounts for collection or legal action when necessary.
  • Provide regular reports on cash commitments.
  • Maintain industry contacts to stay updated on changes in the financial condition of account base members. Attend credit group meetings as required.
  • Cross-train with personnel in other functional areas, as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable or a similar field, knowledge of accounting practices relevant to accounts receivable processing is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills in English (C1 level).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional dedication and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A motivated self-starter with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
